Drones have slowly made themselves invaluables since 10 years in firefighting services around the world.

Today the drone is an essential companion to the teams going in the field to apprehend, qualify and master a fire and seeking to maximize the safety of its members and residents.

Increasingly frequent needs for firefighters

Examples have been increasing in recent years. Whether on forest lands (fires in California, Australia, Europe) or in urban environments (fires of buildings, monuments, Notre-Dame de Paris, etc.), each time  drones are deployed upon arrival on site in order to qualify the crisis, to determine the areas of interest (fire households and potential new fire starts) and:

• to optimize the the ressource to be deployed
• to secure the perimeter
• to supervise the tactical situation
• to minimize the ecological impacts linked to the fire

Communication and sharing of information

In the fight against fires, communication and sharing of just and precise information are key success factors. Firefighters are trained to communicate effectively, and execute orders from the command chain.

Firefighters trained in drone piloting are an integral part of the human system because they guarantee the capture of events and allow an unobstructed aerial view. Sharing this information allows for a better understanding and better decision-making at all levels of the chain.
